If you are planning on golfing or would like to learn the game of golf there are many things that consist of a golf course. These things include the fairway, green, sand traps, rough, and more. You hit the golf ball differently with different clubs when you are in each of these locations.
The fairway is where you are going to start off the tee. You want as much distance as possible with this hit because the tee is usually several hundred yards away from you. You will use a club known as a driver to get the most distance with your shot. These clubs are fat and round on the end with a flat surface to hit the ball right off of the tee. You may have to hit the ball over artificial Christmas trees and even lighted palm trees. Once you are on the fairway and aiming for the green you will switch to an iron. These are smaller flat clubs that are used for less distance. The distance you are from the tee will determine which iron you use. There are many different irons to choose from.
The rough is usually a thick patch of grass you wish you didn’t land in. It may be marsh or tall weeds also. This can be difficult to get yourself out of, especially if you are on a hill or out of the way. Sand traps are also huge patches of sand that you want to avoid when you are playing golf. Sand is difficult to hit your ball out of and can cost you a par or two. You have to hit the ball in a certain way to get out of the sand, usually from underneath the golf ball. It is much easier to hit the ball out of the sand traps for some people than it is to hit over the artificial Christmas trees during the holidays.
Another hazard you may see on a golf course is water. Some courses have man made lakes and areas surrounding many of the different holes. These water hazards can be frustrating. Now obviously you will not be able to hit your ball out of the water once the ball lands in it. Make sure that you bring extra golf balls just in case you lose yours in the water. You don’t want to be stuck diving in for your ball.
The green is usually made of Astroturf. This is a harder and flatter surface of grass where the hole is. When you finally make it to the green when you are playing golf you will use a club called a putter. These are specifically for short distance shots. You never give a full swing when you put the ball at the green. You will lightly tap the ball according to how far away the hole is. If you hit the ball too hard you may be back out in the rough trying to make it in.
All golf courses are different in the way they are laid out. You can expect to see the same things on a course that include the fairway, greens, sand traps, rough, and water. Be prepared for these things once you get to the course.

Today people complain about everything. One of the things people complain about is that land should not be used for golf courses. Many of these concerns have been narrowed down to the amount of water, pesticides, destruction of wetlands, chemicals, and more.
If a golf course is elevated when it rains all of the water runs down hill. If the water eventually runs into public lands people often complain. Someone like an Internet marketing consultant is usually the type to complain. They complain about pesticides creating land pollution. Pesticides and other chemicals are commonly used to keep the animals and the bugs away from a golf course. This is what makes a course look so beautiful and perfect. However, the runoff from rains can cause the pesticides to travel to other areas and kill other land too. This can make land unmanageable for gardening and crops. This can also hurt animals and pollute water.
It is common for people to complain about golf courses being constructed because of decimation of flocks of birds. A certain type of bird may dwell in an area where people want to build a golf course. You will find that the people who riot about US immigration and complain how to become a US citizen is really to easy nowadays are the ones who always complain. People need to realize that a golf course is the best place for birds to flock in the trees because it is the safest environment for them.
There are other people who complain about toxic chemicals being used with golf courses also. Toxic chemicals can be harmful for birds and other reasons. This is because of land and water pollution. There are many people who want to save the earth and there are also people who cannot afford the luxury of golfing. These individuals are the ones to usually complain about the courses being constructed.
If someone can afford to put a golf course up they should be allowed to do so. A golf course is absolutely beautiful and people love to live near a golf course and it provides something for the public to do for leisure. If someone wants to build a trailer park instead of a golf course, the trailer park would be a nightmare. However, it wouldn’t get half of the complaints that the golf course would. This is only because of the people who cannot have the luxury to play because it is such an expensive sport.
Golfing is expensive. Many people complain about the constructing of golf courses around the world. It is true that pesticides are used to kill the bugs and other chemicals are used as deterrents of animals ruining the greens. Building a course for golfing creates an absolutely beautiful place for people who are financially capable to spend their day. A golf course is a much better idea for building than any other public attraction. However, golf courses should try and be more affordable which might help with the people who complain.
